House cleaning etiquette: pet policies
Wondering what to do with your furry friends while your home is being cleaned? Dallas house cleaners answer this frequently asked question.
Q: What do I do with my pet when I have my house cleaned?
A: “I don’t have any policies regarding pets,” says Darla Thomas, owner of B & D Cleaning Services. “Usually the homeowner puts them outside, in a crate or in another room,” she says. Even if the company doesn’t have any rules regarding pets, the people cleaning your home may feel differently. Introduce your pet to the house cleaner and make sure that they are okay with having the pet around beforehand.
Deb Davis of Deb’s Housecleaning in Dallas says that she’s become a pet sitter too. Davis says she is a pet lover and so she becomes attached to her clients’ pets and they get to know her. “The only problem would be if they had a dog like a pit bull that I wasn’t sure of and wouldn’t want to be alone in the house with,” she says. “Then I ask them to do something with the dog. Otherwise, I don’t have any problems with them.”
