COMPLAINT: Andrew Hansen Jr., Drexel Hill, Pa.
"I hired Re-Bath of Pennsylvania & Burlington County to install a bathtub enclosure and liner. They advertise that they have a lifetime warranty for their work. Two years later, water started to collect between the tub and liner.
"They originally scheduled repair work for more than six weeks after I reported the problem. The work was then rescheduled twice."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like Re-Bath to honor the lifetime warranty, remove the water, and correct the problem as soon as possible."
RESPONSE: Donna Luongo, assistant manager, service department, Re-Bath
"We offered to perform this service based on the fact that the customer has not called in with any complaints or problems since installation. Normally, there would be a labor charge associated with this service.
"The lifetime warranty is a manufacturer's warranty against 'chipping, denting or peeling.' We did inconvenience the customer with having to reschedule on two separate occasions, but as we explained to the customer, we did this because we had the flu going around our office.
"We apologized and immediately got the customer another appointment. This is not something that is covered under warranty, but rather was extended in good faith to our customer."
