Homeowner claims contractor owes $30,000
Date Published: Sep 17 2010
COMPLAINT: Charles Bogguess, Hartsdale, N.Y.
"I hired Rob Dipaolo LLC of Dobbs Ferry to design and build a home expansion. The total estimated cost was $200,000, and I gave him approximately $30,000 for a deposit. He was unable to move the project along in a timely manner and his subcontractors performed unsatisfactorily, including an architect whose plans were rejected by the town's building codes.
"After 18 months of e-mails, phone calls and missed timelines, I asked to terminate our arrangement so I could start fresh with another contractor. I am still waiting for him to return the good faith deposit."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "Return the $30,000 deposit."
