COMPLAINT: Cathy Toll, Fond du Lac, Wis.

"Protection One accepted my payments for the security of my [Indianapolis] home.

"When I moved and called to cancel, I learned that they had automatically renewed me beyond the initial three-year contract without providing any notification.

"They told me this was in the contract's small print and I missed it. I've never experienced an automatic renewal without a reminder from any other service. They're now charging me $100 for breaking their alleged new contract."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to not charge me $100 as a penalty."

STATUS: Resolved
