Home remodeling projects under $1,000
Many homeowners often find themselves with large ambitions and much smaller budgets when considering home improvement projects. If you’re not quite prepared to completely remodel your home, there are still projects you can undertake without busting your budget.
Depending on the square footage of your home, here are a few projects that should total $1,000 or less.
Spruce up the bathroom
Considerable changes can be accomplished in any room by simply applying a coat or two of paint. New colors on the walls or trim can freshen up both the look and the feel of the room. A new vanity top and faucets can instantly update your bathroom.
If you’re on a tighter budget, consider installing new towel bars and paper holders. Purchase new towels to add a splash of color. Tiling the floor with a vinyl or ceramic inlay can put the finishing touches on your bathroom do-over.
Liven up the living room
Again, a different shade of color supplied by fresh paint can quickly change the entire feel of the room. For a bold look, paint one wall in a deeper tone.
New flooring and window treatments, such as blinds or shades, can add a stylish touch. Add more interest and color with accessories like pillows, cushions and artwork.
Update the kitchen
For the highest return on your investment, think about retooling the kitchen. Some paint, both for the walls and the cabinets, can easily upgrade the space. Changing the cabinet handles can make the cabinetry look like new while adding your own personal flair. Consider a new tile floor for the final piece to the puzzle.
With a little do-it-yourself effort and imagination, you can stretch your remodeling dollars without compromising your budget. However, it may be prudent to hire a professional for tasks you are not comfortable preforming on your own.
