Holistic veterinarian helps with urinary tract problem
Jessika says Sabby's emergency room visits cost about $300 each and the conventional prescription medicine costs about $70. She says the cranberry supplement Dr. Dowden suggested costs just $10.
Description Of Work: "Dr. [Penny] Dowden [the owner] saw our cat through a difficult urinary tract infection."
Member Comments: "We'd been using a conventional veterinarian when our 8-year-old cat, Sabby, developed a urinary tract problem. They prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines, but he continued to have trouble. We visited the [veterinary] emergency room every couple of weeks over two months.
"We found Dr. Dowden after searching for 'holistic vets' on Angie's List. She spent 20 minutes on the phone talking to us about things we could do for our cat before she saw us. When we took Sabby in, Dr. Dowden changed his diet and gave him a berry supplement. Sabby hasn't had a problem since! He's a healthier and happier cat because of Dr. Dowden's suggestions. She's hands down the best vet we've ever had."
