COMPLAINT: Rosaria Hernandez, Milwaukee

"I hired Haakenson Custom Hardwood Floors to sand and refinish my hardwood floors after Dave [Ridgeway, the owner] came to me and offered a discount.

"I had to stay off the floor for one day and thought the floors looked good, but when I walked on them, I noticed they don't have a smooth finish.

"The grain is raised, has pimples on it and there's a mop spot in the dining room.

"I tried calling him numerous times and left messages. Finally, his wife called and said they would get back to me. That never happened.

"Two other businesses have told me the floors do need correction, so I called [Dave] again and left a message that I'd like a refund. He called back and I tried to explain the problems, but he yelled and hung up on me.

"He was very rude and unprofessional. Because Dave was eager to do the floors and was offering a discount, I believed he was honest and could do a quality job."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $500 refund."
