Gutter gap causes icicle issues in Columbus
COMPLAINT: James Vogel, Columbus, Ohio
"Leafguard of Central Ohio in Hilliard, Ohio, installed new gutters. I was reassured that no water-flow problem would result. However, winter set, resulting in long, thick icicles. When I called the company, they denied responsibility.
"The original project manager said the installers should have put a wood strip underneath the drip pan, so they would push the gutter up under the shingles.
"There is over an inch gap between the shingle and the gutter. As a result, large icicles formed, creating a hazard. The icicles even caused damage to shrubs. I have lived here for 39 years with no icicle problems except after the new gutters were installed."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a refund of $3,100, so I can pay for a new gutter system."
