COMPLAINT: Pamela Young, Indianapolis
"I wanted gutter covers installed and a home improvement store referred me to Nu Vinyl Plus Inc.
"I signed a contract with [Larry Sylvester, the owner] and he completed the work in one day, charging me $536, which I paid before he left my house.
"The gutter covers were made of a flexible vinyl and were not secured. Some blew off that day, and almost all of them blew off over the next few days.
"I wrote several letters to the company letting them know something needed to be done to resolve the issue. I requested a refund, and he asked how many covers I had left - most had blown away - and he basically blew me off.
"He called me about 10 days ago to try to fix the issues, and I requested a refund again; he said he'd look into it. That's the last I've heard from him."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $350 refund."
STATUS: Stalemate
Editor's Note: Sylvester offered to resolve the issue upon return of the gutter covers. Young declined the offer, stating the covers had blown away.
