Gutter cleaning mishap allegedly causes damage
COMPLAINT: Colleen LaMantia, Wheaton, Ill.
"I have retained Hagan Services Group of Naperville, Ill., to clean my gutters for five years. Last fall, they made an error that caused significant damage to my guest bathroom.
"I left their employee at my house while I attended a school function. When I returned an hour later, water was dripping out of my light fixture. A hose had been left to drain water at an angle through my roof's continuous ridge. I asked two roofing companies to check our roof, flashing, caulking and masonry for leaks, and they confirmed there were no leaks that could have flooded the bathroom."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like to be reimbursed for the $1,627 I spent repairing the damage."
