COMPLAINT: Steve Nichols, Indianapolis
"I purchased a bed from The Room Place [in Greenwood] and paid an extra $70 to have them set it up. Three men attempted to put the bed together, but they didn't have a clue what they were doing.
"They were throwing boxes and sliding the bed around on my hardwood floors. They finally said the bed's leather rail cover wouldn't fit and that I should call and get a bigger one. It was 2 inches short on each side and had some bad wrinkles in it.
"That night, my wife stepped on a screw and later when she got in bed, it collapsed and dropped 3 or 4 inches on one end.
"When I removed the mattress and box springs, I noticed they had only put one screw in on each side, instead of two screws that were needed on each side, which caused one end to give out.
"I called customer service and told them I'd fix it because I didn't want those guys back. I asked for my $70 setup back. They said they might be able to give me half the setup fee back."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want my $70 setup fee refunded."
