What styles of dancing do you teach?
Natalya Davison: "Ballet, tap, jazz, modern, ballroom, hip-hop - for adults and kids."
Lori Fields: "Ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip-hop, modern and pointe."
Jennifer Grinwis: "We do ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, contemporary and clogging."
Besides learning how to dance, what are some other reasons people take lessons?
Davison: "A lot of times for exercise or because it was a childhood dream to dance. It's never too late to fulfill your dreams."
Fields: "Socialization and fitness."
Grinwis: "To build confidence, increase strength, build pose and grace, and to improve coordination."
How do you charge for dance lessons and what's the cost?
Davison: "We charge per semester for most. A one-hour class costs about $12."
Fields: "Classes start at $35 per month. Private lessons are $22 per hour."
Grinwis: "By the month. For a 45-minute class once a week, it's $42."
Have shows like "Dancing with the Stars" helped your business?
Davison: "It helps us bring in the boys because it breaks down the stereotype."
Fields: "I think it's increased the interest in dance."
Grinwis: "There's a bigger awareness of dance. People are talking about it, which is great."
How many instructors teach in your studio?
Davison: "There are seven of us."
Fields: "Twelve."
Grinwis: "Ten."
How far in advance does someone need to schedule lessons with you before they can start?
Davison: "We start registering in December for the spring semester."
Fields: "If space is available in the class, clients may start right away."
Grinwis: "You can do it the day before you start."
What is your experience in this industry?
Davison: "I started years ago. In Russia, I attended a professional dance school and danced until age 22. After that, I moved to America and started teaching classes."
Fields: "I have 23 years of teaching experience. On Stage School of Dance Inc. has been in business for 13 years."
Grinwis: "I started when I was 3, then missed it when I went off to college. My mother is Nan, so dancing's always been my life. It's what I enjoy."
