Five Star Landscaping disappoints Easley homeowner
I hired Five Star Landscaping of Landrum, S.C., to create mulch beds with plants and to seed with fescue grass. The owner, Bruce Nutter, has a very convincing line of how qualified and knowledgeable he is and of what fantastic work he has done. He actually does very good work. The problem is he does not do what the contract states and he does it when he pleases, not at the time agreed upon. He was supposed to come to my home on an appointed date and, by his advertising and by the contract, let me pick all plantings and placement. He showed up when I was out of town and planted what he wanted to plant. Some plantings were fine, others I did not like. Instead of the "beautiful, colorful, low maintenance plants" he promised, he planted all deciduous plants, which were nothing like what I had hoped for. The grass looks worse than what I had before he seeded. It is sparse and full of weeds instead of the "lush, full lawn" he promised. He asked for the final payment and, against my better judgment, I paid it. He never showed up to redo the area as he promised.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I would like the discrepancies between what was promised and what was delivered to be resolved. I would like Mr. Nutter to send a subcontractor to complete the work. I would also like to have the promised brochure of recommended care for landscaping.
