Dishwasher repair takes months for D.C. homeowner
Dirty dishes
COMPLAINT: Susan Heath, Mclean, Va.
"I purchased a dishwasher with a Master Service Agreement from Sears at Fair Oaks Mall. I called to request a repair to the dishwasher. It's been four months and I haven't been able to get the dishwasher repaired. I've made two appointments and no service technician showed up, nor did they call.
Sears considers their Master Service Agreement to be the "gold standard" for coverage on products including: home appliances; home electronics; heating and air conditioning systems; and floor care equipment.
I've had one repair technician come who didn't speak English and wasn't able to repair the dishwasher. When I call customer service, they place me on hold for 30 to 90 minutes. Four months with no repair is past any acceptable time frame if a Master Service Agreement is in place."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want my dishwasher repaired or removed and to be credited for the cost of the service agreement."
STATUS: Resolved
Editors note: Sears fixed the dishwasher and the member considers the case resolved.
