COMPLAINT: Leeann Lewis, Indianapolis
"I purchased a sunroom from Nu-Sash Windows to store belongings in. It was a very bad experience. They were asking $1,700, but lowered the price to $1,500 upon delivery. They kept giving me the runaround about when they would deliver the sunroom - it was 9 months later when I finally got it.
"During that time, I'd already purchased another storage building, purely out of need because they took so long. They said I'd be getting screens for the sunroom's windows and door, but they didn't have them on hand. When they delivered the building, they realized they couldn't get it off of the trailer, so they left it.
"I called them with a suggestion for someone to help them move it, but they said it was my problem and I'd have to take care of it. I had to hire someone to move the building off the trailer. Nu-Sash refused to chip in for the cost, even though they never said anything about having to pay extra for that work.
"I still didn't have the screens, so I asked them about it and they gave me the runaround. They finally said I'd have to buy the screens separately and pay more. The sunroom structure isn't usable without the screens because it gets hot and bugs get in with all the windows open."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want the screens and to be reimbursed for the $1,100 moving cost."
RESPONSE: Ron McKee, owner, Nu-Sash Windows
"The transaction was for a mobile sunroom display built on a trailer, being sold as is. After the verbal agreement between the customer and Nu-Sash, there was a disagreement about who and when regarding delivery.
"We finally agreed to deliver the display; however, there was no place to set it, so we left it on the trailer. The sale was as is. There was no agreement, verbal or written, about screens."
