COMPLAINT: Antonette Frasch, Devon, Pa.
"I hired Windowizards to replace 14 windows, replace a basement entry door and add a storm door. I paid a $2,875 deposit.
"They put the doors in the wrong place and the entry door where the storm door was to be added was destroyed. After several months, they installed the doors into the proper places. But the basement door soon stopped closing, and I learned the door was allowing water to leak into the basement. It had been installed in trim, not studs.
"My mason was able to patch the leak. However, the door needs to be reinstalled. Windowizards agreed to credit my account for my mason's work and to supply a new door. I responded that this was acceptable if they would accept 10 percent off the balance, considering the time investment and poor customer service."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like Windowizards to furnish a new entry door. In return, I'll pay $3,791, which is my balance, minus the mason's cost and 10 percent."
STATUS: Resolved
Editor's note: Windowizards offered a 5 percent balance reduction, and Frasch accepted.
