Neighbors Moving & Storage
Didn't respond to Margaret R. Puls' request for a refund for a moving job where she says they damaged many of her belongings. First month in the Box.
COMPLAINT: Margaret R. Puls, Denver
"Neighbors Moving & Storage was to move my belongings from Lafayette to a storage facility in Denver, then move them to a Denver apartment [about two weeks later]. The entire process has been a disaster. They quoted me $98 an hour for a two-person team and truck, and I agreed to pay an additional $98 for travel charges. They also said they'd honor a five-percent coupon and there wouldn't be a fee for storing my items in their facility as long as they moved my belongings to a new location within 30 days.
"They didn't honor the coupon, charged storage fees, broke my belongings to the point beyond repair, threatened to not deliver my items if I didn't pay, and didn't return phone calls. The driver drove extremely slowly and was rude, sarcastic and complained about his job. He said he wouldn't deliver my things if I didn't sign off on additional charges. I threatened to call the police, and that scared him, so he dropped off my stuff.
"When I unpacked, I discovered numerous broken items, and it was clear it was a result of negligence on the employees' part. They dented file cabinets, scraped folding chairs and cracked a desk rack, among other things. Other wooden furniture has noticeably new scratches and gouges throughout."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like a full refund of $1,872."
