D.C.-area deck project allegedly fails to get started

COMPLAINT: Michelle Dozier, Greenbelt, Md.

"I hired Barron Brothers Inc. to build a deck. I gave them $4,205 as a deposit, but they missed the start date, kept telling me they would be out and repeatedly had trouble starting the project.

"I've tried to call and reach them by e-mail, but the phone is disconnected and the original owner informed me by e-mail that he no longer owns the company.

"The new owner hasn't responded to my e-mails."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: I would like a full refund of $4,205.

Homeowner should file a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission & go after his bond.
