Sealing squabble

COMPLAINT: Brent Gordon, Ft. Worth, Texas

"I hired G & S Renovations Inc. to reseal and paint the patio and deck around my pool. The patio developed cracks, and they retreated it two months later. When more cracks developed, they said they wouldn't fix it again, despite the salesman's promise that [the cracks] would be avoided. This seems like a glorified paint job."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like a partial refund of $655."

"The patio and pool deck had cracks when we started the job. We treated these cracks and applied a sealer and restorer. We returned two months later, at no charge, to treat new cracks that appeared. At no time did we promise that cracks wouldn't appear. We've been in business for more than 20 years and we've never guaranteed any concrete not to crack."

Remodeling mess

COMPLAINT: Deidra King, Plano, Texas

"I hired Household Doctor to remodel my kitchen and other places in my house that were damaged by fire. They tried to collect money for things they were supposed to do but didn't, ruined items that didn't need to be fixed, and made comments that frightened my mother and aunt. The laborers didn't knock before they entered the house, and there's paint all over my furniture and floors. They cleaned their paint brushes on my fence, so it's a different color now."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like $5,386 to repair and replace the items they ruined."

STATUS: Penalty Box
