Crown Honda of Charlotte customer unhappy with brake service
COMPLAINT: Kate Baillon-Case, Charlotte
I paid Crown Honda of Charlotte $499 to service my vehicle when I purchased it out of the lease. Four weeks later, the brakes started to make strange noises and had difficulty stopping. I was told the $499 service does not cover them looking properly at the brakes, or anything that requires them to remove the wheels - no tire rotation, no wheel balancing, no alignment. My husband looked in the wheel well with a flashlight and could see that there was less than 1/8 inch of the brake pad left, so there would have even been no need to remove the wheel to see that. The $499 fee seemed to be a basic inspection, which is $30, and oil change. Before you buy any used car, make sure you have your own mechanic look it over to ensure it is safe to drive. My husband and I relied on their service and regret it.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I want a $439 refund, since they have not been able to show me what was done beyond the inspection and oil change.
