Concrete repair results in $10,000 refund request

COMPLAINT: Bob Galvan, Cibolo, Texas

"I hired Concrete Decorating Inc. of San Antonio to refinish my pool, deck and driveway. Owner Bill Weichert said he would guarantee his work for five years. The contract stated he would paint with epoxy, but other contractors told me he painted with latex.

"The pool paint then started coming off and cracking. The epoxy stone on the driveway started coming apart, too. He said he would call in a few weeks, but I never heard back. It has now been over two years and all the work the company did has completely fallen apart."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like some, if not all, of my $10,000 back."

STATUS: Penalty Box

Comments

I foundation repair company was needed to stabilize the structure. The mil thickness of Epoxy is such that it does crac under substancial movement of the concrete it is applied to. Latex paint does not "crack". the structural unstability of Mr. Galvan's property was the issue here, not the quality of wormanship on the part of Concrete Decorating Inc.
