Description of septic tank work: "Judge [Berk, owner], located the septic system of a home I just purchased and cleaned it out. He also replaced a cast iron pipe running from the house to the septic tank."

Judge's services include the installation, repair and service of septic systems; pump tanks and sump pumps; downspouts and more, including recycling 99 percent of the materials used on a job.

Member comments: "I had no idea where the tank was, and Judge was unable to locate it by probing with a metal rod. He used a radio transmitter that was flushed down the toilet to locate the cover. It turned out the tank was a couple feet deep.

"After he pumped it out, he said it was the worst he had seen in years and recommended I replace the cast-iron pipe.

"In replacing the pipe, his men found that a sink and bathtub drain led to a nearby creek. They tied these lines into the new line and put in two cleanouts and a riser on the tank, so there will be no need to dig in the future."
