I need to get my gutters cleaned

Excellent video. I have to say that using leaf screens is really not the best idea due to the fact that they create a false sense of security. I find that once a homeowner installs a screen device thyey tend to ignore their gutters even more, allowing for built up debris which gets through the screens to cause moer harm to the home. Gutter protection systems that carry a lifetime no clog warranty is a much better choice. Yes they do cost more than screens but perform much better and rarely clog, and if they do the installing dealer will clean them at no charge. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. One last note...approach your gutters as you would approach you automobile...change your oil every 3000 miles and your engine will purr. Clean your gutters a minimum of twice per year and your gutters will serve you well, and if you don't have time to clean them install QUALITY gutter covers.

Leaf screens can help minimize the need for gutter cleaning so often. They should not be expensive. A screen installation should never cost more than what the gutters cost to install. No matter how well they claim they work never pay that much just for a gutter cover. The metal hoods for gutters are way too expensive and do not work as they claim. They cause the rain water to cascade over the edge of the gutter before long and cause more moss growth inside the gutter than normal. You should not need a larger gutter either. If the size of the outlet is still the same small size a larger gutters would make no difference. The size of the outlet would make a difference. Do not use strainers inside the gutter. That is the opposite of a larger outlet and will back up a gutter that much sooner. Only use a strainer mounted low in the downspout where the debris can be easily reached without a ladder. You can see what they look like on my web site.

Elaine is right! It is probably your gutters that get clogged or you will need an extension for your downspout system so you can push rain water far away from the foundation.

If you have water entering your basement first check the gutters, the overflow could be your problem.
