How do you charge?
Meineke: "It's a flat fee depending on the product and the repair. We always give an estimate."
Mason: "It's by the repair based on the difficulty, the time involved and the expense of the part."
Dickert: "It's a $50 to $75 service call to come out and then it's a $25 diagnosis fee plus labor and parts."
How long do repairs generally take?
Meineke: "Usually two to five days."
Mason: "We usually fix them in the home the same day."
Dickert: "We try to get them turned around in 24 hours."
What's the average cost to repair a TV?
Meineke: "It's usually about $100."
Mason: "Most repairs are between $200 and $300."
Dickert: "It's probably about $75 to $250."
Have you received many inquiries about the all-digital TV requirements scheduled for February 2009?
Meineke: "We're seeing more and more people inquiring about that. If they have cable or satellite service, their TVs will work fine. If they use rabbit ears, those TVs will have to be upgraded or replaced."
Mason: "That's probably the No. 1 question right now. Consumers are beginning to realize that their satellite or cable service won't be affected. For older sets, you'll need a new TV or a converter box."
Dickert: "We've gotten quite a bit. If people have satellite or cable, they won't have a problem. TVs that use antennas are a concern - you'll need to buy a new set with a digital tuner or buy a converter."
Are you able to assist your customers with their sets to switch from analog to digital?
Meineke: "We're going to be selling and installing the converters."
Mason: "We're an approved seller and installer of the converters."
Dickert: "We're getting set up to sell and install the converters."
What's your current favorite TV show?
Meineke: "I like sports mainly."
Mason: "Anything 'Law and Order.'"
Dickert: "'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.'"
