To mark: you simply need a good floor refinishing company! Now that ur wood has acclimated properly and humidity is about the same as the sub floor in ur home, the wood is not beyond repairing. We run into this all the time here in lexington. My company (moore hardwood floor) specialize in all these kinds of problems. Make sure they have dust containment systems and use a belt+drum sander. Galaxy 8 inch or a hummel 8 inch will be best. They need to start wt 36 grit, then 60 grit, and last 80 grit followed by a 100 screen scrubbing. And that will make ur floors nice and flush. Everything will look great and you should be satisfied. I'm sorry but tearing up the floor will cause more problems then it would solve. That's not even a solution, unless u wanted a different stly of flooring or something of that matter. Been doing this for 15 years and we are backed 100 percent by the BBB. Wt a a+ rating. We know our stuff and trust me it would cost less and satisfy everyone in that situation.
