COMPLAINT: Mark Greene, Cincinnati
"Oakwood Flooring installed random widths of ash flooring in a kitchen addition and over 90 percent of the original floorboards in the house on my farm. The "old" floor that this new flooring was installed on top of never crowned or bowed.
"A general contractor prepped areas before Oakwood Flooring arrived. The job began on time, and the installation went well. However, I have since learned they failed to properly acclimate the wood flooring to its new home prior to installation, since it's a dynamic material subject to changes in dimension as a result of changes in humidity in its surrounding environment.
"Lastly, I purchased and installed a commercial low grain dehumidifier in the basement area of the house to mitigate any moisture issues, but nothing has changed. The damage is done; the flooring is buckled and bowed."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "The wood flooring should be removed now that it is acclimated, reinstalled and then refinished."
STATUS: Penalty Box
