COMPLAINT: Patricia Triplett, Barrington, Ill.
"I hired Junk King to do some hauling for me. They drove their truck over my lawn and it sunk into the yard up to its hubcaps. They had to call two tow trucks to have it pulled out.
They were very apologetic and offered to pay to have the yard repaired. I sent the bill, like they asked me to, but they haven't responded.
I've talked to several employees because the owner, Dave Rapp, never seems to be available. I've never heard back from them."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I need a check for $570."
STATUS: Stalemate
Editor's note: Junk King responded to Angie's List, but the member declined its counteroffer.
COMPLAINT: Dr. E. Challis, Lake Barrington
"I hired Flooring By Design to install hardwood flooring in my kitchen. Less than three months later, the floor is coming up, buckling and loose.
They acknowledged the floor has come loose, but they refuse to fix it without giving me a reason."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like a 50-percent refund of $1,100."
STATUS: Penalty Box
