Big additions don't offer big value in Boston
The best projects don't just offer space or upgrades to your home. They offer value too. Highly rated contractor Mark Bourgeois of B&B Unique Remodeling told Angie's List which projects get the least return on investment.
What are some of the least valuable projects for a Boston area home?
Bourgeois: "Projects that offer lesser value or return would include remodeling a bathroom. Bathrooms tend to be super expensive for the actual amount of square footage you are remodeling. But adding a second bathroom when there is presently only one in the house can offer a very good return on investment.
"Other projects that don't offer great value or returns are the big additions. Everyone loves the extra space but building a large addition can take many months to complete and at a point square footage becomes just that unless really dressed up which is very expensive."
