Best Raleigh Contractors of 2009
House Medic | Cary, N.C.
Kim Patterson of Raleigh praises House Medic owner Mike Znak for handling a delivery problem that arose during a flooring project.
“They took care of not just the actual job, but also the coordination, communication and logistical issues that so often go wrong with home remodeling and renovation projects,” Patterson says.
Znak, who’s not required to have a trade license, says communication is key.
“You have to communicate, whether it’s scheduling an appointment or telling customers how things are going,” Znak says. He’s won the Super Service Award two years in a row and six Pages of Happiness nominations.
Customers may choose green options for insulation and paints with low or no volatile organic compounds.
CS Tree Services Inc. | Apex, N.C.
Angie’s List member Randy Beck says he hired CS Tree Services because they are highly rated and employ certified arborists. “They were eager to please and just really, really happy,” Beck says. “You can tell they love their job.”
Margaret Brackett appreciates receiving a copy of the company’s insurance policy before any work was started on her tree-pruning job.
Co-owner Chris Baley says safety is a top priority on every job. “If you’re not being safe, you can’t do a good job,” he says.
Baley and his partner Steve Kurtz, who are not required to have a trade license, donate mulched debris from jobs to local dog parks and residents.
The 2008 Super Service Award winner has six Pages of Happiness nominations this year.
