Best Cleveland Contractors of 2009
Joe's Lock & Key | Cleveland
Patricia Babischkin says Joe Fradette, owner of Joe's Lock & Key, is an "outstanding" locksmith, and he was friendly to her dog and 6-year-old child.
"He exudes the kind of confidence you want in a locksmith," she says.
Lisa Tooker of Cleveland Heights says Fradette, who has won the Super Service Award five times, gave her advice over the phone on a sticky back door lock.
"He suggested I try lubricating the lock, which saved me from having to take off work," she says.
Fradette, who's not required to have a trade license, values good communication. "People are more relaxed when informed," he says.
"I believe in being honest right up front. I do what I say and say what I do."
Home Safe Home Inspections LLC | Broadview Heights, Ohio
Christine Julian of Shaker Heights turned to Angie's List to find David Macy of Home Safe Home Inspections, a two-time Super Service Award winner.
"One of the surprises he found was that the crawl space wasn't adequately insulated or waterproofed," Julian says, adding that his inspection helped her get a low bid on the house she was buying.
Natalie Green of Cleveland says Macy kept her out of the rain by inspecting the outside of her house before she arrived. "He even brought me an umbrella!"
Macy, who's not required to have a trade license, has been named one of the Best Contractors in Northeast Ohio for a second consecutive year. He says his thoroughness keeps his customers loyal.
"I take extra time and don't rush through inspections," he says.
