Baltimore client says furniture movers damaged drywall
COMPLAINT: Jennifer Givens, Catonsville, Md.
I hired Progressive Moving N Storage to move my belongings from my old residence to my new home six miles away. I was very disappointed in the level of service this company provided.
I spent a great deal of time and money making my home move-in ready. I explained this to the movers and asked them to take great care in moving the furniture. Unfortunately, they didn't.
While I know some scratches can be expected in a move, the newly painted walls of my old home were covered with dozens of scuffs, scratches, gashes and even holes straight through the drywall.
As soon as I noticed the damage during the move, I called Progressive's management office. No one answered. I left a message but received no return call. I continued calling Progressive to receive information on the company's liability insurance and damage repair policy.
I've left six messages regarding my dissatisfaction, and I've received no reply. Without cooperation from this company, I'll be held responsible for the damage they did to the home because it was already sold to new owners at the time of my move.
In addition to the damage they did to the walls, they took an unacceptable amount of time to move my belongings. It took 13 hours and two trips to move my belongings only six miles. I'm sickened by the lack of professionalism this company has shown.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I want reimbursement for the damages they incurred to my property.
STATUS: Penalty Box
