Penalty Box
Roger's Automotive
Did not respond to Angela Gauldin's request for a reimbursement for repairs she says were faulty. First month in the box.
Below the belt
COMPLAINT: Angela Gauldin, Cascade, Va.
"I took my car to Roger's Automotive for a new harmonic balancer and belts. After I got my car back, it started leaking oil. I took it back and they told me the seal behind my harmonic balancer was leaking. I paid to fix that. Not even a week later, the timing belt broke and bent the valves. I asked them what they were going to do about it and they told me it was 'my problem.'"
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "This company should pay back the $1,500 I spent repairing the damages they caused."
STATUS: Penalty Box
Pain in the glass
COMPLAINT: Susan Hogan, Alexandria, Va.
"There was nothing dramatic about the job: tear out 12 old windows and install 12 new ones. Wheaton Door & Window Co. did a shabby job. I was left with three damaged walls and window treatments I can no longer use."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want $1,700 from Wheaton."
RESPONSE: Jack Weber, president, Wheaton Door & Window Co.
"The member's version of events is misleading. She fails to mention: She canceled her scheduled installation three times; she gave high praise in writing to our installer; and she refused our offer to fix her wall scratches at our expense."
STATUS: Stalemate
