For homeowners looking for ways to cut their energy bills, there are a few things that they can do to produce energy savings. One of the best ways is to keep heating and air systems operating at peak performance levels. This can be accomplished by having the systems serviced regularly and changing the filters on a regular basis.

Air duct cleaning may help also. Bruce Sanders, of Air Care Services in Lisle, Illinois, says, "Homeowners of a typical 6-room home can significantly reduce energy cost by keeping the system air ducts and the remaining components of the heating and air system clean. Moreover, a regularly serviced system can cut energy consumption by 25% to 40%."

In addition, Charles Bedi, of Kingsborough Chimney Sweep, outside of Chicago, adds, "Contaminants in a heating and cooling system can cause the system to become dirty, which will ultimately cause it to work harder and shorten the life of the system. However, when a system is clean, the system does not have to work as hard to maintain the desired temperature. As a result, less energy is used, which will improve system cost-effectiveness."

A clean heating and air system will produce a better performing system that will save energy and ultimately help reduce operating cost. To learn more contact a certified air duct cleaner in Chicago.
